This tour combines history, natural phenomena and relaxation. You visit three of Iceland´s most famous landmarks - Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir (or Gaysir as we like to call it) hot spring area and Þingvellir national park.
We also make a stop in Laugarvatn, a small village that sits on the banks of a lake by the same name. The town is famous for its natural sauna, built above a real live hot spring. The original sauna was built in the 1920s and was little more than a shack with two compartments, built above the hot spring that bubbles and gurgles below your feet. Today, however, it takes pride of place in the über-modern Fontana Laugarvatn, and is complemented by a dry sauna plus hot tubs of varying temperatures and descriptions. A visit to this amazing natural sauna is something that all visitors to Iceland should get to experience.
After relaxing at the Laugarvatn Fontana we will head to Þingvellir national park situated on the tectonic plate boundaries of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. During the tour we will enjoy a hearty lunch at Efstidalur Organic Farm.
